About The Position

This role involves daily interaction with the customer, Acquisition Offices (AOs), and supporting contractors. The engineer will follow customer standards and processes while providing continuous improvements and innovations. A key aspect of the role is evaluating architecture, requirements, risks, opportunities, and processes for Verification, Validation, and Transition (VV&T) impacts. The engineer will define VV&T activities and associated products, lead or support the execution of VV&T activities, prepare reports on results and risk assessments, manage risks, lead technical meetings, and provide technical consultation to the customer and stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Must possess and be able to maintain a TS/SCI clearance with Poly.
  • BS/BA degree with 8-10 years of experience, or 6-8 years with MS/MA or 3-5 years with Ph.D.
  • Ability to facilitate meetings and working groups.
  • Experience with Enterprise or System level satellite VV&T activities.
  • Experience with GEOINT or PROTECTION systems space and ground architecture.
  • Knowledge of space to ground mission technical capabilities and system performance analysis/assessment
  • Experience with Mission Planning, Control or Processing functions in support of space and ground operations.
  • Experience with Writing test strategies, plans, procedures, and checklists.
  • Experience with Executing tests, analyzing data, and summarizing results.
  • Ability and willingness to mentor and lead Junior members of the VV&T team.
  • Ability to partner with various SETA, FFRDC, and Government lines of authority.

Nice To Haves

  • 12+ Years of related experience.
  • SME level knowledge of Enterprise / System Level Satellite VV&T.
  • Knowledge of Model Based Systems Engineering and experience using SysML.
  • Experience with commercial VV&T techniques in service-oriented architecture (SOA) environments, or for infrastructure or application service provider environments.

Responsibilities

  • Define VV&T activities and associated VV&T products (e.g., strategies, plans, Requests for Change (RFCs), procedures, checklists, RVTMs, briefings, etc.) for new and modified mission and service capabilities.
  • Lead or support the execution of VV&T activities (e.g., Test events, Transitions, Milestone Readiness Events).
  • Prepare reports describing the results, risk assessment, discrepancy reporting, and lessons learned from VV&T activities.
  • Risk management, tracking and closure with Acquisition Offices and stakeholders.
  • Lead technical meetings to coordinate, and support VV&T activities and milestones.
  • Provide technical consultation, briefings and recommendations to the customer and other stakeholders.
