This Manufacturing Engineering position will support Space Vehicle design optimization on our LM400 Product Line. This position will support multiple programs in our LM400 portfolio driving Systems and Integration Design for Manufacturing and Rate Production. This position will work with our Assembly Test and Launch Organizations to develop and standardize the DFX approach to Space Vehicle Integration and Assembly.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a STEM discipline.
  • 5+ years of professional experience.
  • Demonstrated experience with design for producibility (DFx/DFm) principles.
  • Direct experience as a manufacturing engineer or similar technical authority in Assembly, Test and Launch Operations.
  • Working knowledge of CAD systems and Manufacturing ERP systems, such as CREO, Automated Framework, or VE-CAMs.
  • Experience in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and assembly sequences.
  • Must be a US Citizen, and currently possess and be able to maintain a US DoD TOP SECRET, with ability to obtain SCI clearance, to support this government contract, as well as successfully pass a drug and background check, in order to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

  • Hands on experience on Space Vehicle Integration and Test Programs, including: Component and System Level Functional and Environmental test
  • Lead ME experience during build of final spacecraft integration.
  • Experience planning and executing mechanical operations associated with final integration and test of complex spacecraft
  • Applies advanced technical principles, techniques, theories and concepts. Contributes to the development of new principles and theories.
  • Ability to influence and lead.
  • Must be able to interface with senior leadership, customers, and various functional organizations.
  • Proven ability to collaborate across a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Ability to work self-directed, self-starter and motivated.
  • Strong, effective, active communication skills to include presentation of complex information.
  • Change agent mindset demonstrated through recent implemented improvements.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills complimenting the ability to make timely, balanced decisions.
  • New Process development and experience validating processes for flight applications.
  • Current Active TS/SCI.

Responsibilities

  • Ability to collaborate in a multidisciplinary team while staying true to production goals and how they influence design decisions.
  • Provide cost trades during design cycles to describe and defend producibility choices.
