About The Position

The Systems Integration Engineer is a technically hands-on, customer-facing role supporting the delivery of Verifone payment solutions. The engineer guides customers through the integration journey, from implementation and validation to troubleshooting and issue resolution, across device and non-device payment integrations. The role combines programming with customer communication and requires someone who can work independently, learn quickly, and take ownership of outcomes. The position also involves testing sample code and solutions, managing smaller integration engagements, and using AI tools—including Claude—to support programming, documentation, tool development, and workflow improvement. The role is based in Verifone’s in-office work culture and includes travel to customer sites as needed, approximately 10–15% of the time.

Requirements

  • Hands-on Java and/or Kotlin programming experience; this is a core requirement.
  • Experience in a customer-facing technical role, such as integration engineering, technical support, or solutions engineering.
  • Ability to work effectively in a self-learning environment, take ownership of problems, and drive them to resolution with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated competence using AI models in a technical context, including using AI for coding tasks, documentation, and building tools and skills.
  • Strong written communication skills, including the ability to document issues, resolutions, and project status clearly and consistently.
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites approximately 10–15% of the time.

Nice To Haves

  • Hands-on experience with REST API programming.
  • Android device and Android Studio experience.
  • Working knowledge of Jira, Confluence, Git, and Postman.
  • Knowledge of Swift, .NET, or Python programming.
  • Experience with Claude specifically is highly valued.

Responsibilities

  • Guide customers through implementation and integration of Verifone payment solutions, including device and non-device integrations.
  • Support customer validation processes, troubleshoot technical issues, escalate internally, and raise tickets as needed.
  • Manage customer expectations and communicate clearly and professionally throughout the integration lifecycle.
  • Travel to customer sites as needed, approximately 10–15% of the time, to support integrations and provide hands-on training on integration methods.
  • Test and evaluate new sample code and solutions, and provide practical feedback to internal teams.
  • Write and review code in Java and/or Kotlin to support customer integration work and internal tooling.
  • Use REST API programming to build and validate integrations, and apply Android development experience where relevant.
  • Use AI tools, particularly Claude, for programming, creating skills and tools, generating documentation, and improving workflow efficiency.
  • Project manage smaller integration engagements without formal PMO support, keeping timelines, stakeholders, and deliverables on track.
  • Provide and maintain weekly project status updates across active projects.
  • Document issues, resolutions, and integration guidance in Jira, Confluence, and other tools to build a reusable knowledge base.
