  • Ability and knowledge to develop next generation of improved turbochargers.
  • 3+ years of Powertrain development experience.
  • Proficiency in German Language is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Understand and interpret performance, emissions, and OBD regulations in the context of how requirements will be fulfilled by Detroit engines and aftertreatments sold in the U.S. and other countries.
  • Define and release new or improved products and follow the release through scheduling, procurement, manufacture, assembly, and test.
  • Effectively collaborate within a cross-functional team to ensure various requirements and boundary conditions are fully understood and maintained.
  • Regularly prioritize workload, clearly communicate progress, and elevate roadblocks to the team and management.
  • Assess Heavy Duty Diesel engine performance and emissions margin by reviewing data gathered in performance test cells, durability, engineering vehicles, summer/winter testing, and the reliability growth fleet.
  • Interact closely with the Customer Service team to assess, analyze, and steer solutions with HD and MD field engines.
  • Develop large portions (e.g., altitude, sealevel maps) of heavy-duty engine fuel maps and be responsible for their release.
  • Develop parts of the fuel maps (e.g., thermo-management or cold maps) for future Heavy Duty Diesel (like HDES25++ or HDES30+) Engines according to the DVP&R plan.
  • Improve DVP&R and other analysis tools for engine development.
  • Assess aftertreatment performance and emissions margin by reviewing data gathered in performance test cells, durability, engineering vehicles, and the reliability growth fleet.
  • Run back-to-back evaluations for engines and parts as defined by the projects or ICMs.
  • Establish test procedures (including instrumentation, fixturing, test environment) to fulfill DVPR requirements.
  • Utilize structured problem-solving methods to identify root cause and integrate corrective actions into new or existing aftertreatment software.
  • Analyze data, draw conclusions, and provide recommendations of technical results to the management team.
