About The Position

A well-funded physical AI company founded by a leading tech entrepreneur is bringing autonomous vehicles and robotics to industries including transport, food, and mining. Engineers lead decisions, and the Systems Integration and Test Engineer’s integration and validation decisions carry significant weight. The role brings up new autonomous vehicle platforms in the garage, from initial bench setup through a working fleet. This includes flashing ECUs and integrating hardware and software. The engineer debugs system-level issues across lidar, radar, cameras, compute, vehicle networks, harnesses, and power; creates scripts, SOPs, and build instructions so technicians and manufacturing can repeat vehicle bring-up; and improves the build process over time. The role also involves creating bench setups to test changes safely and determine how to roll them out to the fleet, as well as travel to test, customer, and deployment sites.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of vehicle or systems integration experience at an L4 autonomous vehicle, advanced automotive, or EV company running lidar, radar, and cameras on its own fleet.
  • Hands-on experience debugging perception sensors on vehicles in a running fleet, not only on a bench or in simulation.
  • Experience bringing up a vehicle platform from its first build through development of a repeatable process.
  • Hands-on experience with CAN, CAN FD, and Automotive Ethernet.
  • Experience with tools such as CANalyzer/CANoe, Vehicle Spy, and oscilloscopes.
  • Willingness to work in the garage most days.

Nice To Haves

  • Python or MATLAB experience on Linux for automating bring-up steps.
  • Formula SAE or race car electronics experience.
  • A degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, robotics, or mechatronics.
