About The Position

Frequentis Canada, located in Gatineau, Quebec, is seeking a dynamic Systems Engineering Specialist to join their team. This role involves working closely with Project Management, Research and Development, Production, Sales, and Product Management to analyze customer requirements, design system architectures, and integrate, test, and deploy various products and technologies. The position is based in Gatineau, Quebec, and is open to Canadian citizens, permanent residents, and foreign workers with a valid Canadian Work Permit.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering or equivalent
  • Bilingual (French and English)
  • 2+ years’ experience supporting, integrating, deploying complex integrated hardware & software systems
  • Telecommunications/telephony systems and related technology experience (VoIP, T1/E1, ISDN, MFC-R2, POTS, FXS, TDM, IP, TCP/IP, SIP, RTP, μwave).
  • Air Traffic Management systems and related technology experience (Voice Communication System, Radar, Flight Strip, Voice Legal recorder, ATIS, Voice and Data multiplexer)
  • Radio systems and related technology experience (UHF/VHF/HF radios, antennas, RF filters/combiner, Surge protector, Voter, Climax and Spectrum Analyzer).
  • High familiarity with ATC product and industry standard concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Network analysis tools (Wireshark).
  • Reliability Analysis, Reliability standards & tools.
  • System requirements analysis, design and functional allocation.
  • Excellent problem solving, analytical, and technical troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience in routing and networking technologies (Cisco certifications an asset).
  • Experience with a variety of operating systems including Windows Server 200x, Windows XP/7/8/10, Linux and others.
  • Experienced in effectively interfacing with customers, suppliers, sub-contractors on a technical level

Responsibilities

  • Technical Point of contact and System Engineering Lead for project until successful program
  • Design High Availability System Architecture and define build of materials to fulfill orders
  • Customer Requirement Analysis and Ensures maturity of Hardware and Software versions against customer specifications
  • Integration and Qualification of COTS Telecommunication Products
  • Document Software installation and configuration, network configuration, and telecommunication integration
  • Write Manufacturing Installation procedures to setup equipment
  • Write System Feature and Product Specification Documents
  • Design System Wiring diagrams
  • Analyze technical project risks
  • Supporting investigations and troubleshooting of system-level issues as they arise
  • Assist Sales with proposal engineering
  • Assist ATC installation and Site Acceptance Test worldwide when necessary
  • Troubleshoot fielded ATC system Issues
  • Participate in system safety and EMI certifications
  • Provide Reliability Analysis
