About The Position

This position will provide Subject Matter Expert (SME) Level Systems Engineering and Integration (SE&I) support to the Human Lander System (HLS) Program Office’s Systems Engineering and Integration (SE&I) Office (LP10) at the Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC). This position will provide direct support to the Requirements and Verification team in the areas of interfaces, requirements and/or verification and validation (V&V). Coordinate across the Artemis program elements, to include Orion, Extravehicular Activity and Human Surface Mobility (EHP), and other HLS landers interfaces. Near-term duties will be directed to the support of requirements. Specific support to be provided includes, but is not limited to, the following: Support the Requirements and Verification team by: Negotiate, capture and document requirements while leveraging Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools and processes. Provide inputs to strategic planning regarding the processes and approaches for definition and documentation of interfaces, requirements and V&V to support HLS milestones. Support V&V through strategic planning, vetting and capturing V&V planning and closure documentation, and supporting review and approval of provided Detailed Verification Objectives (DVO)/Verification Events (VE) and Verification Closure Notices (VCN). Contribute to the digital transformation efforts through the development of Digital Engineering Tools and leveraging AI as appropriate. Develop and deliver SE&I products, documents, presentations, and action item responses. Support interface and integration requirements definition, verification, and validation, and change management efforts. Participate in reviews, meetings, teleconferences, and working groups. Communicate issues, best practices, lessons-learned and other technical positions related to the development of the systems engineering approach for program level integration efforts. Identify, describe, and communicate potential risks. Build consensus across stakeholders to meet program/project technical, cost and schedule constraints. Deliver project briefings to all levels of management and stakeholders. Provide clear and effective communications with internal and external partners and stakeholders. Requires travel in the domestic USA (<15%). Must be a US Citizen and have a STAR ID.

Requirements

  • A degree from an ABET accredited university is preferred.
  • Typically, educational requirements are the equivalent of a BS with at least 25+ years of systems engineering and/or technical management experience.
  • MS degree preferred.
  • Experience supporting NASA launch vehicle and spacecraft projects.
  • Experience developing and documenting requirements, verifications, processes, or procedures.
  • Knowledge of space vehicle design, functions, terminology, interfaces, technical disciplines, and system design.
  • Flight hardware experience and/or hardware delivery experience.
  • A strong ability to perform with limited direction and guidance.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and effective team player with strong customer relations skills, familiar with working in a dynamic work environment.
  • Demonstrated experience building strong working relationships with multiple stakeholders, organizing, and facilitating meetings/technical discussions.
  • Ability to read the room in meetings with customers and stakeholders.
  • Ability to interface and collaborate with all levels of engineering and project management with the ability to lead and influence for consensus.
  • Intermediate skills using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams &Outlook).
  • Excellent written and oral technical communication skills, with the ability to clearly define and describe a technical subject to peers across various engineering disciplines.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and delivering program-level briefings and capability to communicate with program level stakeholders and partners.
  • Must be a US Citizen and have a STAR ID.

Nice To Haves

  • 10+ years of experience years of systems engineering and/or technical or programmatic management support of NASA projects or programs.
