About The Position

We are seeking a highly skilled Systems Engineering Senior Group Manager with experience in High Availability systems specializing in z/TPF Administration, Stratus Systems and I-Series technologies to oversee a Global engineering team responsible for maintaining the very large z/TPF, Stratus and I-series estate. This includes installing, configuring, and troubleshooting the hardware components, operating system and related software with the goal of ensuring the stability, security, and performance of the infrastructure.

Requirements

• Deep understanding of z/TPF, VOS and IOS operating system and other related tools.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve complex system issues.
• Proven leadership experience, including managing, mentoring, and developing a team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with other teams.
• Familiarity with mainframe hardware and software, including Crypto, FICON, I-series and Stratus systems utilities.
• Overall 15+ yrs of exp with minimum of 8 years of experience in z/TPF Administration
• Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience

Responsibilities

• Manage, mentor, and develop a team of z/TPD, Stratus and I-series System Programmers.
• Oversee the installation, maintenance, and upgrades of z/TPF Stratus and I-Series software. Including extensive experience with the IBM Security Portal and Vulnerability management
• Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions to optimize performance.
• Diagnose and resolve complex system issues, including software errors, hardware failures, and system crashes.
• Implement and maintain comprehensive security policies and procedures to protect sensitive data and system integrity.
• Plan for future system needs and ensure adequate resources are available to meet business requirements.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
• Work with other IT teams, such as application support, database administration, and network engineering.
• Expert level familiarity with disaster recovery solution, and specifically storage replication technologies.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
