As the Systems Engineering Manager at Centrus Energy, you’ll lead the team responsible for maintaining the integrity, reliability, and performance of plant systems that support mission-critical operations. From safeguarding design bases to enabling continuous improvement, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the plant runs safely, efficiently, and effectively.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or physical sciences, or equivalent technical experience
  • 8+ years of relevant engineering experience supporting plant operations, maintenance, or system engineering functions
  • Strong understanding of system design, configuration control, and engineering fundamentals
  • 4+ years of nuclear experience
  • Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain a “Q” level security clearance.
  • Must be able to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire.
  • Must pass a pre-employment background check and a pre-employment drug test.
  • Must obtain and maintain a Q security clearance.
  • Must be tested for the absence of any illegal drug prior to an offer of employment being made.
  • Must be willing to participate in a random drug testing program and may be tested in the event of any incident causing injury or damage to property, or if there is reasonable suspicion of being under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
  • Must pass a pre-employment background check and a background investigation by the Federal government.
  • Subsequent Federal government reinvestigations may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Build, lead, and mentor a team of systems engineers.
  • Provide technical oversight to ensure plant configurations remain aligned with design bases and safety requirements, including items relied on for safety (IROFS).
  • Partner closely with Operations, Maintenance, Design, and Construction teams to support system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement modifications that improve reliability and efficiency.
  • Support startup and testing of new equipment.
  • Act on behalf of design authority.
  • Provide leadership with clear insights into system health, performance trends, and opportunities for improvement—all while ensuring cost-effective and compliant engineering solutions.
