About The Position

This role involves supporting and leading the integration and testing of electronic systems, along with their associated hardware, software, and firmware subsystems and components. The position requires the ability to perform data analysis and modeling/simulation to identify root causes of issues or guide design decisions. The candidate will present their work to multidisciplinary teams and internal/external customers. There is potential for travel, up to 10%, depending on program assignments. The role emphasizes independent work with general supervision, a drive for continuous improvement and knowledge expansion, and communication across engineering disciplines within the Systems Engineering organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and minimum 4+ years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2+ years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8+ years of prior related experience.
  • Hands-on experience with commercial RF/EE test equipment/devices (e.g. signal generator, spectrum analyzer, oscilloscope, network analyzer, attenuators, amplifiers, etc.).
  • Experience generating requirements at various levels of the system and flowing down requirements to subsystems/sub-components.
  • Expertise in RF systems, RF technology, and algorithms (linear and non-linear) to enable new RF products, services, and RF business development for government customers and programs.
  • Experience with requirements management, and requirements management tools (IBM Rational DOORS and/or JAMA).
  • Active security clearance, minimum Secret Level.
  • Experience with Requirements generation and ability to interpret and evaluate requirements from the customer and breakdown for lower level assemblies.
  • Self-motivated individuals; work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills; able to communicate across disciplines.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with data analysis and/or modeling and simulation (e.g. with MATLAB/python).
  • Experience on Hardware Environmental and EMI Qualification testing efforts.
  • Experience with concepts in signal processing, logic design, computer architecture.
  • Experience working on aerospace/defense electronic systems (e.g. electronic warfare systems, radar, missile guidance, missile defense).
  • Experience in the System Design of Embedded System Architectures.
  • Familiarity with Digital Engineering, sysML/Model Based System Engineering (MBSE), and System Simulation.
  • Understanding of Cyber Security best practices.
  • Organized and detail-oriented.

Responsibilities

  • Ability to work independently or with general supervision.
  • Strives for improvement and continuous development, candidate should want to increase their knowledge base and look for growth opportunities.
  • Recommendations for process or practice improvement within the Systems Engineering Organization.
  • Communication within Systems Engineering and across other engineering disciplines.
  • Support/lead integration and test of electronic systems and related hardware/software/firmware subsystems/sub-components/ products.
  • Support/lead data analysis and modeling and simulation to find underlying root cause of issue and/or to guide design.
  • Present work to multi-disciplinary team and internal/external customers.
  • Ability to obtain higher levels as necessary.
