Requirements

Must be pursuing Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering and actively enrolled through the completion of the internship session.
Must have a minimum of 60 hours of credit by the start of the internship session.
Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects.
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Nice To Haves

Experience with one or more of the following: Turbomachinery instrumentation, Analog, Digital Electronics, Mixed Signal, Circuit Design or Analysis, Electrical Components, Digital Signal Processing or PCB design.
Experience using common electronic test and measurement equipment such as oscilloscopes, vector network analyzers (VNAs) digital multimeters (DMMs) and signal generators for circuit characterization, debugging and validation.
Prior RTX internship, co-op, or work experience.

Responsibilities

Working on tasks related to data acquisition/data recording on military and commercial engines including related instrumentation.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams of engineers and other stakeholders regarding data before, during, and after testing.
Communicate results and insights to technical and non-technical audiences in a clear and concise manner.
Set up of test facilities to support engine testing.
Set up of instrumentation measurement systems to support engine testing.
Consult and coordinate with engineering and customer groups to establish requirements.
Troubleshooting and calibration of devices in the test facility or lab, and operation of data acquisition systems during validation testing.
Effectively communicate with instrumentation technicians, test engineering and operations groups to ensure requirements are fully understood and achievable.
