About The Position

The Systems and Safety team is responsible for the validation of the Safety Processor. The Safety Processor is a robust and high availability component within the ADS that monitors for faults and arbitrates between redundant sub-systems. The process to analyze the recorded data files and document evidence takes significant time and effort.

Requirements

  • Actively enrolled in a Master’s degree in Systems Engineering or related Engineering study
  • Previous experience or research with Autonomous Driving, Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) or Robotics
  • Proficiency in Python and C++, using linux based tools preferred, but not necessary
  • Strong organizational and communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of automotive safety standards (ISO 26262, SOTIF etc)
  • Experience with vehicle level control software for powertrain, battery, chassis, etc.
  • Knowledge of vehicle communication networks/protocols

Responsibilities

  • Provide a method to automate the generation of test report
  • Perform the analysis on Safety Processor functionalities such as redundant takeover detection, steering angle and angle rate limitation, speed limitation and brake effort limitation.
  • Directly patch the analyzed results into the Plus Requirements Management System with proper test evidence.
  • Discover any abnormal characteristics out of the analyzed CAN data (e.g. unauthorized step change, CAN data loss, etc.)
