About The Position

The Systems Engineering Co-op will work with other engineers on aerospace and defense projects, supporting systems engineering activities and investigating emerging avionics technologies. The position is onsite in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and requires the student to remain actively enrolled through the co-op session. The co-op offers opportunities to build presentation, scripting and coding, documentation, and collaborative teamwork skills.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Pursuing a bachelor's or advanced degree in Aerospace Engineering, Computer Engineering, or another STEM major.
Actively enrolled through completion of the internship/co-op session.
Ability to work onsite during the co-op session.
Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without company immigration sponsorship now or in the future.

Nice To Haves

Passion for avionics.
A pilot's license.
Basic experience with Python or another scripting language.
Good communication skills.
Self-starter who works well independently.

Responsibilities

Update systems-level requirements and design documents.
Define and update input/output data for the system.
Support system-level verification activities.
Enhance or create tools that support systems engineering tasks.
Investigate and help develop new and emerging avionics technologies.
