About The Position

We have developed a ground-breaking medical device for the diagnosis and treatment of the most common heart rhythm disorder, atrial fibrillation – which can cause stroke, heart failure, and other heart-related complications. Kardium’s mission is to deliver the best treatment for atrial fibrillation. To achieve this, we have developed The Globe® Pulsed Field System – we have a fantastic technical team that has developed a product with strong, unique, and customer-valued differentiators versus other solutions on the market. We have built connections with key opinion leaders who are already using the Globe System and are helping to tell our story. We are now preparing for our upcoming commercial launch. This is an exciting and significant milestone in our journey to bring this ground-breaking technology to patients. As a member of the Systems team, you will get hands-on experience in the design and improvement of requirements, as well as the continued development of highly complex medical devices in the rapidly changing field of electrophysiology. Working within a multidisciplinary team that spans mechanical, electrical and software domains, you will apply your analytical skills and knowledge of mechanical systems to facilitate effective medical device design control. Please note, this opportunity is a hybrid work arrangement, located in Burnaby, BC.

Requirements

  • Enthusiasm for the combined field of biology and engineering.
  • Have a strong background in mechanical engineering fundamentals.
  • Excellent writing and documentation skills.
  • Positive, proactive attitude and ability to execute tasks with an appropriate level of independence.
  • Enthusiastic about seeking innovative solutions to unforeseen challenges.
  • Demonstrated communication skills and success working in a team setting.

Responsibilities

  • Developing and improving product, user, and business requirements.
  • Developing an understanding of design controls for medical device product development, as well as design transfer to manufacturing requirements.
  • Supporting clinical benchtop testing and jig development.
  • Supporting change control processes for mechanical and electrical hardware.
  • Collaborating with other engineering teams across the company including Risk Management, Regulatory Affairs, Clinical Development Engineering, and Mechanical Design and Test.
