About The Position

This is a co-op position within the Systems Engineering team, focusing on the design, development, requirements management, and manufacturing transfer of an innovative and highly complex medical device. The role involves applying analytical skills and knowledge of electrical or mechatronic systems to facilitate effective medical device design control. This is a hybrid work arrangement located in Burnaby, BC.

Requirements

  • An interest in healthcare and medical device development
  • Strong grasp of theoretical electrical concepts
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent language skills and a proven ability to produce concise, accurate technical writing
  • Proactive attitude, and the ability to execute tasks with an appropriate level of independence
  • Enrollment in programs such as electrical engineering, mechatronics, biomedical engineering, or other programs related to medical device design

Responsibilities

  • Developing and improving product, user, and business requirements
  • Developing an understanding of medical device design control and QMS processes, including requirement development, risk management, and regulatory standard compliance
  • Building product trace matrices to facilitate effective design control
  • Ensuring adequate design transfer to manufacturing through improvement of design output tracing through to manufacturing process outputs
