About The Position

Become a part of something IMPACT-ful! Ground Missile Defense (GMD) is the heart of the Missile Defense System and a key element of our nation’s defense against ballistic missile attacks. The GMD Weapon System (GWS) processes data from multiple sensors to identify and characterize the inbound ballistic missile threat, plans the best defensive solution, and launches the intercepting missiles to negate the threat. The Systems Engineer will support the Missile Defense Agency’s GMD Weapon System program by performing systems engineering activities across requirements, architecture, design, integration, verification, analysis, and technical coordination. The engineer will work with software, test, cybersecurity, integration, product teams, and customer stakeholders to help ensure system capabilities meet mission, technical, and program requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related technical discipline.
  • Professional systems engineering experience supporting requirements, architecture, design, integration, verification, validation, analysis, or technical coordination activities.
  • Experience analyzing technical requirements and developing engineering products to support system development or verification.
  • Familiarity with systems engineering lifecycle processes and system-of-systems engineering concepts.
  • Experience working with cross-functional engineering teams, including software, test, integration, cybersecurity, or hardware teams.
  • Experience using engineering tools such as DOORS, Cameo, Jira, Confluence, MATLAB, Python, or similar tools.
  • Ability to work independently with general direction and support multiple technical tasks or priorities.
  • U.S. government Active secret security clearance.
