About The Position

Become a part of something IMPACT-ful! Ground Missile Defense (GMD) is the heart of the Missile Defense System and a key element of our nation’s defense against ballistic missile attacks. The GMD Weapon System (GWS) processes data from multiple sensors to identify and characterize the inbound ballistic missile threat, plans the best defensive solution, and launches the intercepting missiles to negate the threat. The Work The Systems Engineer to support the GMD Fire Control (GFC) product team on the Ground Based Mid-course Defense (GMD) Weapon System (GWS) program. The candidate should have experience taking on progressively challenging responsibilities, demonstrating initiative, and driving innovative solutions. They should be recognized as a self-starter, learn quickly, and deliver results in dynamic environments. In this role the candidate will perform Systems Engineering functions such as requirements decomposition, system design, and system integration & test. This team follows an Agile framework using Jira and Confluence to manage their backlog and document progress. The GWS system provides missile defense capabilities that protects and defends the United States of America. This is not a telework/remote position.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university and 2 years of related work experience.
  • Familiar with DOORS, Cameo, and MBSE.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to think critically and capture concepts in work products, presentations, and discussions.
  • Capable of working both independently and within a team environment.
  • Must be able to support an in-person / closed-area work environment.
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 10% of the time to support business needs.
  • Current active in-scope DoD-issued Secret security clearance.
  • Must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with the MDA GMD program.
  • Broad experience with systems engineering applied throughout the systems “V” lifecycle model.
  • Experience with Software development and the verification of requirements.
  • Battle Management or Fire Control experience.
  • MBSE or INCOSE Certifications.
  • Experience developing SE artifacts, including specifications, Interface Control Documents, Use Cases, System Architecture Descriptions, Trade Studies, and similar documents.
