About The Position

BAE Systems, Precision Guidance and Sensing Solutions (PGSS) Product Line within the Precision Strike (PS) Business Area has an immediate opening for an experienced Systems Engineer specializing in support to our development efforts in our Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) Missile Seeker program. The successful candidate will have a combination of direct experience developing both hardware and software Test Solutions in the Electro-Optical/Infrared domain. The candidate must also understand lab environment testing concepts and integration of systems, sub-assemblies, and components. The applicant should have a strong background in ‘C’ code software development for PC based test and measurement applications and recent experience. Familiarity with Electrical Engineering hardware interfacing and electromechanical Test Systems is beneficial for this position. Requirements

  • Experience developing both hardware and software Test Solutions in Electro-Optical/Infrared domain.
  • Understanding of lab environment testing concepts and integration of systems, sub-assemblies, and components.
  • Strong background in ‘C’ code software development for PC based test and measurement applications and recent experience.
  • Experience with high performance data acquisition and control applications.
  • Experience with various communication protocols such as Ethernet TCP/IP, Telnet, RS-485, HotLink, IEEE-488, USB, etc.
  • Background in Electrical Engineering and experience interfacing with Commercial Instrumentation such as Oscilloscopes, Multi-Meters, Network Analyzers, Lasers etc.
  • Experience in one or more software languages: ANSI C, NI CVI, C++, C#, MATLAB.
  • Advanced circuit analysis skills to support troubleshooting and diagnosing issues.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering or Computer Engineering with 4 years of applicable experience.
  • Experience creating and upgrading test equipment for use in production.
  • Experienced background in Electro-Optical / Infrared Sensor systems, modeling, test and diagnostics, for active and passive system solutions.
  • Experience with ingesting and post processing datasets into Oracle or similar database.
  • Must be a US Citizen who has or can obtain a Secret Security Clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with Electrical Engineering hardware interfacing and electromechanical Test Systems is beneficial.
  • Experience with interfaces.
