The Senior Systems Engineer supports the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency’s modernization of GEOINT Reporting and Workflow Orchestration to a service architecture. Working with the Analysis Integrated Program Office (IPA), the engineer provides services to help define the target architecture, decompose capabilities into solution and program epics, document and prioritize the development baseline, integrate new customers and sources, and coordinate with the development vendor to deliver the planned baseline. The team primarily supports IPA leadership and also works with projects involving intelligence and geospatial analysis capabilities for the intelligence community. Areas include Structured Observation Management Services, Analytic Modernization Services, Exploitation Services, Orchestration Services, Advanced Geospatial Services, and requirements, architecture, and integration with sensor-related programs. The role guides requirements analysis and traceability, architecture, procedures, and systems improvement, including review of cloud service capabilities, workflows, and scheduling limitations. It helps the Government translate mission and customer needs into system and capability requirements and solutions, coordinates Government program management customers with DevOps teams using Agile methods, and supports requirements allocation, systems integration, technical planning, performance engineering, risk management, and interface design. The engineer also integrates systems, services, processes, and interfaces across major systems acquisitions and organizational boundaries; guides less-senior engineers; and conducts alternatives analyses, courses of action, trade studies, and engineering assessments.
