About The Position

The Systems Engineer will provide technical leadership in the design, development, integration, and sustainment of critical systems. This role is responsible for analyzing user requirements, concepts of operations, and high-level system architectures to develop system requirements and engineering solutions that support mission objectives. The Systems Engineer will analyze system requirements, lead system design and development activities, and guide users in formulating technical requirements and evaluating alternative solutions. They will develop system architecture documentation, system design documentation, and other technical artifacts to support the full system lifecycle. Additionally, they will support system engineering management planning, system integration planning, and test planning to ensure successful implementation and transition into operational environments. The successful candidate will provide technical leadership for the integration of requirements, design, and emerging technologies while incorporating new capabilities into existing operational environments. They will work closely with customers, program personnel, and senior leadership to resolve technical issues, provide engineering recommendations, and ensure the technical integrity of project deliverables. The ideal candidate is an effective communicator with experience supporting small mission-focused teams. They will possess hands-on experience as a Linux Systems Administrator, enabling them to understand operational environments and support engineering decisions throughout the system lifecycle.

Requirements

  • Fourteen (14) years of experience as a Systems Engineer supporting programs or contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
  • Experience analyzing user requirements, concepts of operations, and system architectures to develop system requirements and engineering solutions.
  • Experience leading system design, development, integration, and implementation activities throughout the system lifecycle.
  • Experience developing system architecture documentation, system design documentation, system engineering management plans, and system integration and test plans.
  • Experience providing technical leadership, evaluating engineering approaches, conducting feasibility studies, and integrating new technologies into operational environments.
  • Experience interacting directly with customers, program personnel, and senior leadership to resolve technical issues and communicate engineering recommendations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to support multiple small mission teams in a dynamic environment.
  • Hands-on experience administering Linux.
  • Experience with Linux system administration, scripting, and troubleshooting in secure enterprise environments.
  • Experience supporting system integration, system testing, and operational transition activities.
  • Knowledge of systems engineering methodologies, system lifecycle processes, and requirements management.
  • Experience with virtualization, networking, cybersecurity, or cloud technologies.
  • Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or a related technical discipline from an accredited college or university.
  • Five (5) additional years of Systems Engineering experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.
  • Current IAT Level II certification or higher.
  • TS/SCI w/ Polygraph Security Clearance
