About The Position

Nightwing CODEX is seeking a Systems Engineer (SE) to directly support mission-critical needs, solving complex and critical problems in partnership with mission customers. The role involves serving as a scrum master in an agile environment, following the software development product lifecycle. This position requires traditional SE processes, including contributing to systems engineering documentation such as System Engineering Plans, Initial Capabilities Documents, Requirements Specifications, and Interface Control Documents. The SE will manage system requirements and derived requirements to ensure the delivery of production systems compatible with defined system architectures. Responsibilities include supporting developers in translating technical work into diagrams or other documentation, assisting with the development of system and functional requirements, and allocating them to hardware, software, facility, and personnel components. The role also involves coordinating the resolution of action items from Configuration Control Board (CCB) meetings, design reviews, program reviews, and test reviews that require cross-discipline coordination, and participating in an Integrated Product Team to design new capabilities based on development and operational considerations.

Requirements

  • Typically requires bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline from an accredited college or university and Fourteen 14 years’ experience as a SE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type and complexity.
  • Five 5 years of additional SE experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as a scrum master in an agile environment following the software development product lifecycle.
  • Contributes to the development of sections of systems engineering documentation such as System Engineering Plans, Initial Capabilities Documents, Requirements specifications, and Interface Control Documents.
  • Manages system requirements and derived requirements to ensure the delivery of production systems that are compatible with the defined system architecture(s).
  • Supports developers in translating technical work into diagrams or other documentation needed.
  • Assists with the development of system requirements, functional requirements, and allocation of the same to individual hardware, software, facility, and personnel components.
  • Coordinates the resolution of action items from Configuration Control Board (CCB) meetings, design reviews, program reviews, and test reviews that require cross-discipline coordination.
  • Participates in an Integrated Product Team to design new capabilities based upon evaluation of all necessary development and operational considerations.
  • Participates in the development of system engineering documentation, such as System Engineering Plans, Initial Capabilities Documents, Requirements Specifications, and Interface Control Documents.
