About The Position

Diversified Services Network, Inc. (DSN) is seeking a full-time Systems Engineer to join its team in Mossville, Illinois. The role helps define requirements and architecture for autonomous machine systems, with a primary focus on developing system integration requirements across multiple systems for the Loading, Dozing & Compaction Application Team. These systems may include onboard electronic systems as well as process and people interactions. The Systems Engineer applies autonomous system solutions and technologies to semi- or fully autonomous systems; translates customer requirements into hardware and software system-level requirements; manages requirements and related features in DevOps; and works with machine system teams on feature delivery, component selection, and integration. The role also supports design, development, integration, and testing of robust, scalable features on embedded electronic control and vision systems for autonomous machine applications. The position works with a local team of 3–6 engineers and may collaborate with other U.S.-based teams. Work is divided between an office and an on-site proving ground, with approximately 20% of time at the proving ground. Personal protective equipment is provided for proving-ground work. The listed annual salary expectation is $80,000–$85,000. DSN offers benefits including PTO and a 401(k).

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field and 5–7 years of relevant experience, or a master's degree with 5 or more years of experience.
Proven experience as a Systems Engineer supporting autonomous machine development, including integrating software and hardware to deliver autonomous solutions.
Experience collaborating with systems integration and validation teams throughout product development, including validating software and hardware in laboratory and machine environments.
Knowledge of construction equipment such as articulated dump trucks, hydraulic excavators, and wheel loaders.
Ability to support production products through design, implementation, customer rollout, and ongoing support.
Ability to decompose complex customer requirements into achievable technical requirements.
Experience with autonomous systems and centralized command/control system architecture.
Experience with systems integration over CAN and Ethernet.
Strong communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to explain complex technical concepts and design trade-offs to team members and stakeholders at multiple levels.
Commitment to thorough documentation of designs, requirements, and success criteria.
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
