Systems Engineer
About The Position
BAE Systems is seeking a Systems Engineer with experience relevant to U.S. Navy Aegis, SSDS, or DDG 1000 combat systems. The role integrates combat systems at a land-based test site, the Surface Combat Systems Center (SCSC) in Wallops Island, Virginia. SCSC provides AEGIS and Ship Self-Defense System (SSDS) combat systems for engineering, testing, training, and certification. The engineer plans power, cooling, equipment mounting, data cabling, and security for combat systems; prepares and finalizes design packages and schedules; and drives equipment installation and activation testing. The objective is to deliver functional systems ready for operations on schedule.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering, scientific, or technical discipline.
- Five years of relevant experience.
- Flexibility and willingness to work evenings or weekends when necessary to meet system activation milestones.
Nice To Haves
- An electrical, mechanical, or systems engineering degree.
- Experience with CAD or MSBE software.
- Direct experience with U.S. Navy AEGIS and/or SSDS systems.
- Experience implementing DoD Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC) standards.
