This is an unpaid fellowship through the Department of War (DoW) SkillBridge Program. The fellow selected for this role will not receive compensation or benefits from GDIT and will not be an employee, agent or contractor of GDIT but rather will remain an employee of the DoW and will receive compensation and benefits through the DoW. Through the Department of War (DoW) SkillBridge Program, GDIT offers transitioning service members the opportunity to gain hands‑on training and professional experience as a Systems Engineer (SE) Fellow , supporting the U.S. Army Europe and Africa (USAREUR‑AF) mission within the III Armored Corps Sensor Integration & Data Fusion Lab (SID‑FL) at West Fort Hood, TX. In this Fellowship, the participant will gain exposure to multi‑enclave data architectures, sensor‑integration workflows, cloud‑computing environments, AI/ML testing processes, and technical laboratory operations supporting emerging Army data‑centric capabilities. The Fellow will train alongside experienced systems engineers, architects, and data‑integration specialists to develop foundational expertise in sensor data flows, cross‑domain solutions, enterprise IT environments, and structured lab operations. The Systems Engineer (SE) Fellow will learn how new intelligence, sensor, and data‑fusion technologies are evaluated, integrated, and validated—while contributing to scenario support, data‑flow assessments, technical documentation, and structured laboratory events that enable innovation for the Army's Eastern Front Deterrence Initiative (EFDI).
