About The Position

This role involves executing end-to-end systems engineering activities for Precision Fires programs. The Systems Engineer will apply critical thinking to resolve complex, system-of-systems engineering challenges. This position requires developing, analyzing, and managing system requirements throughout the software development lifecycle, with a strong emphasis on hands-on IBM DOORS administration. The engineer will work dynamically within an Agile environment, collaborating with cross-functional teams including Software Safety, Test, and Cybersecurity, and will be responsible for authoring and maintaining technical documentation.

Requirements

  • Strong background supporting systems engineering across the complete software development lifecycle.
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience with IBM DOORS (9.7.x) for active data and requirement management.
  • Proven ability to analyze complex requirements and understand their cascading impacts on software testing, system safety, and cyber defense protocols.
  • Must possess a Bachelors degree and two (2) years’ relevant experience; Six (6) years’ additional experience can be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Must possess an active Interim Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a Secret clearance.
  • US Citizenship required.

Nice To Haves

  • A solid understanding of, or direct experience working with, systems engineering throughout the Army Acquisition Life Cycle is considered a very strong plus.
  • Experience using Microsoft Azure DevOps (ADO) for requirements support is highly desired.

Responsibilities

  • Execute end-to-end systems engineering activities for Precision Fires programs.
  • Apply critical thinking to resolve complex, system-of-systems engineering challenges.
  • Develop, analyze, and manage existing and new system requirements throughout the full software development lifecycle.
  • Actively utilize IBM DOORS (9.7.x) to manage requirement data independently, including establishing traceability links, creating objects within modules, and exporting Requirement Verification Matrices (RVMs).
  • Work dynamically within an Agile environment, attending regular scrum meetings.
  • Leverage Microsoft Azure DevOps (ADO) for requirement tracking and support.
  • Assimilate and align system requirements with other critical functional areas, specifically Software Safety, Test, and Cybersecurity.
  • Author, review, and maintain accurate technical documentation and specifications.
