About The Position

Nova Biomedical is a global leader in osmolality testing and biotechnology and in vitro diagnostic (IVD) instrumentation, dedicated to advancing patient care and scientific discovery. The Mechanical / Systems Engineer (I/II) supports the design, testing, and reliability improvement of laboratory instrumentation within the Engineering (AI) group. This entry- to mid-level role emphasizes hands-on laboratory testing, design iteration, and risk reduction activities under the guidance of senior engineers. The engineer contributes to resolving performance and reliability issues in a collaborative, regulated product development environment.

Requirements

  • BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is required.
  • Experience supporting mechanical testing, reliability improvement, or performance troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with data analysis tools such as Excel, Minitab, Analyse-it, or similar.
  • Hands-on experience with prototyping, fixtures, or experimental laboratory hardware.
  • Exposure to regulated product development environments; medical device experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Execute hands-on laboratory testing (integration, verification, thermal, fluidic, and reliability), including test setup, instrumentation, troubleshooting, and data collection.
  • Support development and execution of test protocols and document results in clear, concise test reports.
  • Analyze test data using standard tools (e.g., Excel, Minitab) and communicate findings to senior engineers.
  • Support mechanical design iteration by incorporating test results into CAD models and drawings using SolidWorks.
  • Assist with identification of potential failure mechanisms and support risk mitigation activities through testing and basic analysis.
  • Maintain organized design and test documentation in compliance with regulated product development requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to share observations, results, and recommendations.
