MITRE’s Multi-Int Exploitation Mission Enabler department effectively combines the deep technical knowledge required to develop capabilities with critical domain knowledge to harness and shape those capabilities to meet multiple sponsor mission needs. We have the technical depth and breadth to thrive in mission focused R&D/S&T organizations and the well-earned sponsor credibility to execute work programs relating to research, analysis, prototyping, T&E, etc. We seek motivated individuals who are interested in applying sensors, AI/ML systems, and data engineering for the exploitation of multiple data types to include remote sensing data. Remote Sensing data refers to those collected using infrared imagery (OPIR), hyperspectral imagery (HSI), radar (SAR/GMTI), full motion video (FMV), Wide Are Motion Imagery (WAMI), and 3D data from a range of sources.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 6 years and a Master’s degree; or 3 years and a PhD; or an equivalent combination of related education and work experience.
  • Experience with NGA, NGA’s Mission and/or the IT/Capabilities employed to enable that Mission
  • Active TS/SCI clearance
  • U.S. Citizenship required
  • This position has an on-site requirement of 5 days a week on-site

Nice To Haves

  • Understanding of NGA’s Mission, from operations to the IT/Capabilities employed to enable mission success
  • Knowledge of NGA programs of records and future changes that could impact the Partner, specifically knowledge in the areas of Structured Observation Management (SOM), workflow management, Imagery Library architecture, cloud computing, big data analytics and 5 Eyes Enterprise (5EE) concepts is a significant plus
  • Ability to break apart complex problems/ideas dealing with near-term or long-term interoperability and communicate solutions to both engineers and Senior Stakeholder representation from the Allied System for Geospatial (ASG) Intelligence
  • Ability to work independently across multiple topic areas, given the disconnected nature of the task
  • Promotion of GEOINT solutions that impact those areas of the partner’s architecture that could provide direct benefit to the burden sharing relationship
  • Willingness to travel to partner location when required (United Kingdom and/or other CONUS locations)
  • Previous experience working with the FVEY Intelligence Community
  • Acquisition lifecycle and Requirements development
  • Agile and Waterfall engineering development process experience

Responsibilities

  • Provide independent, unbiased technical support across multiple short- and long-term engineering efforts supporting NGA’s partnership with the United Kingdom, with potential limited support to other international partners.
  • Evaluate U.S. and partner solutions and develop recommendations to support the successful development, integration, testing, fielding, and operational use of intelligence systems.
  • Identify, assess, and communicate changes on either side of the partnership that may impact partner ways of working, IT environments, or system interfaces.
  • Analyze and synthesize complex technical and programmatic issues across a range of GEOINT solutions and present clear findings and recommendations to U.S. and partner system owners.
  • Work independently to maintain awareness of partnership activities while building and sustaining effective relationships across NGA, partner engineering support contractors, and user communities.
  • Collaborate closely with NGA government personnel and other partner support contractors located in the U.S. and alongside the partner to ensure coordinated engineering support and mission success.
  • Support communication and coordination between stakeholders to improve interoperability, integration planning, and alignment of technical efforts across partner organizations.
  • Perform duties from Springfield, VA, with periodic travel to the United Kingdom up to twice annually and additional CONUS travel as required.
