About The Position

Requirements

  • Between 3 to 10 years of experience performing the duties described in the Functional Description
  • Experience with Visual Studio development environment software
  • Experience with C++, C#, Microsoft ActiveX; and Python object or component oriented development software
  • Experience with Microsoft and Linux operating systems
  • Experience with creating and evaluating schematics diagrams
  • Experience applying electrical and communication concepts and standards such as power budget analysis and MIL-STD-1553
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills—verbal, non-verbal, written, and listening—for staff, customer and organizational level communications, both formal and informal
  • Ability to work independently; self-starter
  • Working knowledge and use of Microsoft Office suite programs, MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and SharePoint
  • Must possess an active DoD Secret security clearance (Top Secret preferred) and be able to maintain it. Applicants will be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
  • The applicant must have US citizenship at the time of application.

Responsibilities

  • Research, design, develop, and test operating systems-level software, compilers, and network distribution software for military, communications, aerospace, scientific, and general computing applications
  • Set operational specifications and formulate and analyze software requirements
  • May design embedded systems software
  • Apply principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis
  • Working at the customers site with government personnel to ensure program success
  • Evaluate hardware interface documents to design/build equipment such as cable and interface box for interfacing with multiple hardware
  • Design, build, and maintain test equipment and test rack for supporting integration and test activities
  • Provide clear and unambiguous requirements to the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) for correction and designs for EW systems such as APR-39, AAQ-24 and AAQ-45 programs along with the evaluation and analysis of system performance
  • Review and provide input to the OEM Acceptance Test Procedures (ATP) and witnessing the ATP at the OEM facility
  • Testing and validating the Operational Flight Program (OFP), Mission Data Files, and/or User Data Modules for the APR-39, AAQ-24 and AAQ-45
  • Responsible for the test planning, identifying resources required, and execute the test
  • Generate a test reports in accordance with the current MDEWSSA IPT processes
  • Document any defect found during testing using the Defect Management System
  • Conducting an Engineering Review Board (ERB)
  • Writing and updating intermediate and final technical documents including system requirements and design specifications/documents, white papers, and engineering notes
  • Participate in project related meetings (milestone reviews, agile ceremonies, status, design, etc.), and both host and conduct technical meetings and teleconferences
