We are hiring a Systems Engineer who will provide technical expertise to the Army’s Project Management Office (PMO), Aircraft Survivability Equipment (ASE), working onsite in Huntsville, AL. This role involves providing technical expertise in applying the systems engineering process throughout the system life cycle or development of new products and/or existing system products. The Systems Engineer will participate in meetings between PMO ASE, Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), and external stakeholders, and in all systems engineering related technical reviews. Support will be provided for the analysis, development, and integration of existing and/or emerging system technologies into suitable ASE systems and/or subsystems, addressing cost, schedule, performance, Test & Evaluation (T&E), and technical risk issues. The role also includes providing input to the development of ASE acquisition program documents, supporting various program reviews and meetings, and providing technical Subject Matter Expert (SME) presentations. Key areas of focus include advising on systems engineering concepts for threat detection in rotary wing aircraft, providing technical expertise with Ultraviolet (UV), Infrared (IR), and Radio Frequency (RF) technologies for sensor systems, and recommending developments in the PMO ASE Systems Engineering Plan (SEP). The position also involves managing and participating in Configuration Control Board (CCB) meetings, performing Trade Study analysis, and defining requirements, analysis, design, and development of ASE hardware or prototypes. Coordination of Laser Detecting Set (LDS) Radar Signal Detecting Set (RSDS) DSEM fidelity updates and support for ASE Digital Engineering initiatives, including Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), are crucial. This includes fostering MBSE capabilities, coordinating MBSE Deep Dive meetings, establishing ASE Digital Engineering Classified Capability via MATRIX System, reviewing SysML model deliveries, managing development of high-level product models, adjusting Future Vertical Lift Architecture Framework (FAF) Conformant models, providing Digital Engineering feedback, developing Standard Operating Procedures for SysML model simulated variables, and actively participating in Missile Warning (MW) and Radar Warning Infrared Countermeasures (RWIC) activities. Regular review of Army Engineering Policy for Digital Engineering technical guidance and mandates is also required.
