About The Position

Carrier Global Corporation is hiring an engineer to develop and design residential HVAC systems and subsystems, including thermodynamic and electro-mechanical components. The role evaluates and qualifies HVAC components against reliability and performance standards, develops and validates thermal models, and supports prototype construction and system testing in collaboration with lab technicians. The engineer troubleshoots complex HVAC system issues, leads root-cause analysis and resolution, and partners with design and engineering teams to translate requirements into components, subsystems, and finished products. The position supports system-level analysis throughout design, testing, manufacturing, and operation; evaluates manufacturability and reliability; and identifies continuous improvement opportunities. The engineer contributes to multiple projects, owning small projects or key technical deliverables.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
  • At least 3 years of Engineering experience.

Nice To Haves

  • A degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or another Engineering discipline.
  • Understanding of thermodynamics, heat transfer, and fluid dynamics.
  • Knowledge of HVAC system architecture, controls, and electro-mechanical systems.
  • Experience with engineering problem-solving, troubleshooting, and data analysis.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced product development environment.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Experience in HVAC systems or related thermal/mechanical product development.
  • Knowledge of reliability engineering principles and testing methodologies.
  • Experience with system modeling tools such as MATLAB, Modelica, or Python.
  • Familiarity with design of experiments (DOE) and data analysis techniques.
  • Experience working in lab environments, with prototype builds and validation testing.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
