About The Position

Nammo Perry, Inc. is a U.S. defense contractor and a member of the Nammo Group (Nammo AS). Nammo Perry develops, manufactures and specializes in propulsion and energetic material products for tactical missiles, rocket motors, and warheads. Nammo Perry is presently expanding operations and is looking for dedicated team members to assist with new start-up operations and program execution. We are currently seeking candidates for the position of Systems Engineer. Work Location: Tallahassee, FL with travel to Perry, FL facility as needed. Must be a US Citizen and be capable of holding a DoW Security Clearance. (Dual citizens will not be considered)

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with 0-2 years of relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office software: Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, and Visio.
  • Must have experience in or be capable of learning Siemens NX and SimCenter 3D.
  • Ability to maintain attention to detail under stress, and the ability to understand and interpret Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.
  • Must be a US Citizen and be capable of holding a DoW Security Clearance
  • Dual citizens will not be considered
  • Ability to obtain BATF approval to work with our products
  • Must submit to and pass a drug test pursuant to Company Drug-Free Workplace Policy which includes random testing
  • Must be able to sit/stand for prolonged periods of time
  • Must have stamina to work more than the scheduled workday when needed; including nights and weekends

Responsibilities

  • Lead cross-functional engineering teams (Thermal/Structural/Ballistic Analysis, Systems, Test) to drive project execution, managing technical scope.
  • Function as design lead on new projects, developing new rocket motors through Design, Analysis, Test methods.
  • Supports production activities as needed.
  • Develop Statement of Work (SOW), technical approach and technical specifications to meet development and production requirements.
  • Works with tooling, safety, project and analysis engineers to implement fixtures, tooling and equipment.
  • Act as the primary technical interface with Department of War (DoW) and prime customers, providing regular status reports, presentations, and technical briefings.
  • Participate in design reviews to ensure contract requirements are incorporated and can be verified through design, qualification, inspection, software or test.
  • Identify program risks and opportunities, develop mitigation plans, and manage Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs).
  • Performs Design for Manufacture/Design for Assembly (DFM/DFA) studies in coordination with Manufacturing Engineering.
  • Generate and maintain a reliability program for each project.
  • Coordinate system integration and testing, ensuring compliance with MIL-STD, AS9100, and regulatory requirements.
  • Address and resolve technical challenges by analyzing reports of production, malfunction, and maintenance.
