About The Position

This position provides an opportunity to transition from other private, public, government or military experience to a 3M career. As a Systems Engineer, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by: Developing integrations for software, data, and analytics systems in a team environment. Implement 3M software solutions and data collection historians on manufacturing lines. Support computer network concepts/troubleshooting. Interact with plant engineering, process engineers and controls engineer and technologists to assess the need for smart manufacturing solutions. Design, Implement, and Integrate PLC upgrades on manufacturing lines. Proactively communicates project direction and status to appropriate personnel. Development and implementation of improvements related to safety, quality, service, and cost. Driving cost and productivity improvements by leading Continuous Improvement projects with a variety of toolsets, including standard work development, tier reviews and kaizens.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
  • Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).
  • Responsibilities of this position may include direct and/or indirect physical or logical access to information, systems, technologies subjected to the regulations/compliance with U.S. Export Control Laws.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's or master's degree or higher in Software Engineering, Control Systems, Software Development or Computer Science (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
  • Experience in one or more of the following: chemical operations, extrusion, coating and converting
  • Passion for SMART Manufacturing and Data Automation
  • Workflow Software integration, Power BI reporting, and understanding of PLC hardware architecture and Ladder Logic
  • Database skills with SQL scripts and stored procedures
  • Self-starter, results driven behaviors with strong oral and written communications skills
