About The Position

Become a part of something IMPACT-ful! Ground Missile Defense (GMD) is the heart of the Missile Defense System and a key element of our nation’s defense against ballistic missile attacks. The GMD Weapon System (GWS) processes data from multiple sensors to identify and characterize the inbound ballistic missile threat, plans the best defensive solution, and launches the intercepting missiles to negate the threat. The selected Engineer's responsibilities will include the support of the Ground Weapons System (GWS) program as an individual contributor on the SPA team. This role is responsible for developing data analysis products that directly support the design and development of the GWS capability on behalf of the Missile Defense Agency (MDA). Requirements

  • Must have an active final secret clearance
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university and 8 years of related experience, or a Master's Degree in STEM and 6 years of related experience, or 5 years of experience with a PhD in STEM.
  • Extensive experience conducting trade studies or root cause analysis against any of the following: simulation frameworks, threat models, or command and control models.
  • Experience performing operational analysis and/or mission effectiveness analysis for software products.
  • Proficiency with communicating technical findings and recommendations to decision makers.
  • Proficiency with MATLAB and Python.
  • Must be able to support an in-person / closed-area work environment
  • Must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated ability to rapidly learn and absorb new concepts.
  • Experience with the MDA GMD program.
  • Advanced degree in Mathematics or Physics
  • Unix/Linux Operating System Experience
  • Extensive experience leading trade studies or root cause analysis against any of the following: simulation frameworks, threat models, or command and control models.
  • Current Security+ certification
