About The Position

GCI is seeking a Systems Engineer SME to deliver tradecraft, technical, and network solutions for the Customer’s online public portals and specialized network. The role includes securing, maintaining, upgrading, and enhancing portal and network systems, including open-internet and dark web portals. The engineer researches, develops, maintains, and documents designs and implementations; collaborates with internal and external teams, Customer staff, candidate personnel, and other stakeholders; and supports requirements, application development, programming, testing, monitoring, and issue resolution. The engineer monitors applications, maintains failure-resolution plans, follows the Customer’s Risk Management Framework, tracks work and action items, records user stories, and uses a Customer-approved issue-tracking system. The role also includes on-call support: reporting to the Customer’s site within two hours for network issues and resolving outages within three hours, except when the fault lies with Customer-maintained infrastructure. Candidates must be U.S. citizens and hold an active/current TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance.
