About The Position

SAIC has an opportunity for a Systems Engineer to join an elite team providing Systems Engineering and Technical Advisory (SETA) services in Las Cruces, NM. The selected candidate will work multiple mission system projects and tasks—from broad, strategic issues (e.g. policies, concept of operations, etc.) to tactical concerns (e.g., near-term schedules, testing, system integration and transition, etc.) to support vital operational missions.

Requirements

  • Systems Engineering and Technical Advisory (SETA) services experience
  • Experience working with multiple mission system projects
  • Experience with broad, strategic issues (e.g., policies, concept of operations)
  • Experience with tactical concerns (e.g., near-term schedules, testing, system integration and transition)
  • Experience supporting vital operational missions
  • Experience executing systems engineering and integration (SE&I) activities
  • Experience working collaboratively with other customer organizations
  • Experience executing site system engineering processes
  • Experience overseeing site processes used to document and manage site baseline
  • Experience collaborating with System Program Offices (SPO), local operations teams, and other Government Agencies
  • Experience integrating GEOINT space missions into a ground-based architecture
  • Experience ensuring organizations understand site integration needs and processes
  • Experience assisting in developing standards, processes and procedures, and operations & maintenance plans
  • Experience reviewing and evaluating technical documentation (e.g. RFCs, CONOPS, requirements; issues and risks, etc.)
  • Experience representing government interests at various forums
  • Experience providing analysis and recommendations to multiple government customers
  • Experience serving as liaison between GPOC and internal/external organizational project managers
  • Ability to guide and monitor project progress
  • Willingness for occasional CONUS travel

Responsibilities

  • Support Chief Engineer and government staff to execute systems engineering and integration (SE&I) activities across customer-site and work collaboratively with other customer organizations across the mission enterprise.
  • Work with SE&I teams to execute site system engineering process; oversee site processes used to document and manage site baseline to accommodate evolving mission needs.
  • Collaborate with System Program Offices (SPO), local operations teams, and other Government Agencies to integrate various GEOINT space missions into a ground-based architecture.
  • Ensure the delivering organization understands site integration needs and processes.
  • Assist in developing standards, processes and procedures, and operations & maintenance plans.
  • Review and evaluate technical documentation (e.g. RFCs, CONOPS, requirements; issues and risks, etc.).
  • Represent government interests at various forums.
  • Provide analysis and recommendations to multiple government customers.
  • Serve as liaison between GPOC and internal/external organizational project managers to guide and monitor progress.
  • Occasional CONUS travel.
