About The Position

Serve as a Systems and Mechanical Engineer to provide technical leadership in support of U.S. Navy munitions and energetics programs. Support the full system development lifecycle using your experience in systems engineering, test planning and execution, configuration management, cost tracking, and service life extension assessments. Work across multidisciplinary teams and test organizations to deliver high-quality technical products and support mission-critical defense objectives. Provide systems and mechanical engineering support for U.S. Navy munitions and energetics programs across the system development lifecycle. Investigate components and systems requiring service life extension and prepare technical assessments and recommendation reports. Maintain configuration management control for program drawings and specifications to preserve technical baseline integrity. Perform cost tracking to support program execution and budget awareness. Author and prepare ordnance assessment test plans, coordinate with multiple test organizations to plan and execute testing, communicate status, gather and assess data, witness test events, and prepare final reports recommending whether to pursue a service life extension. Apply systems engineering principles across all phases of the DoD 5000 acquisition lifecycle, including requirements definition, interface management, system analysis, and development. Develop test plans and reports, support verification and traceability activities, and manage technical risk and configuration throughout execution. Produce clear and concise technical documentation for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience solving complex systems engineering problems in support of defense, weapons, munitions, explosives, propellants, or energetic materials programs
  • Experience preparing and presenting technical reports, briefings, test plans, test procedures, and engineering recommendations for government stakeholders
  • Experience supporting the design, development, and review of systems engineering artifacts, including requirements analysis, interface design, system architecture, hardware or software design, performance analysis, test requirements, test plans, and test reports
  • Experience authoring and preparing ordnance assessment test plans
  • Knowledge of the systems engineering lifecycle
  • Secret clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics
