About The Position

Sabre Systems is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to support the Systems Engineering Department (SED) at Patuxent River Naval Air Station. This role involves providing systems engineering support for weapons systems on various platforms, including technical research, development, analysis, and documentation throughout the acquisition process and lifecycle. The program office, PMA-273, manages aircraft, simulators, and associated systems for the U.S. Navy's undergraduate pilot training. The selected candidate will provide engineering and acquisition support to the Assistant Program Manager for Systems Engineering (APMSE) in managing the T-6B Texan II aircraft.

Requirements

Must hold a BA/BS degree in a technical field or scientific field from an accredited college or university.
Must have three (3) years of recent and relevant experience.
Demonstrated experience in an area of engineering expertise is required.
Have an active DoD Secret Clearance or higher.
Must be a US Citizen.

Nice To Haves

Fixed-Wing Aviation Experience: familiarity with aircraft systems, flight training operations, or acquisition support for fixed-wing aircraft.
Knowledge of systems engineering processes and naval acquisition lifecycle.

Responsibilities

Performs programmatic or technical knowledge identifying, formulating, designing, and/or testing practical solutions to engineering problems.
Guides the engineering development of modern complex systems.
Employs systems engineering methods and tools in the development of systems.
Support systems engineering activities related to sustainment, upgrades, and safety of the T-6B Texan II.
Monitor system performance, integration and airworthiness.
Coordinate with stakeholders across NAVAIR, training squadrons, and contractors to ensure fleet readiness and training mission effectiveness.
Contribute to risk management, technical documentation, and compliance with acquisition standards.
