This position leads, plans, designs, and implements complex technology solutions with minimal supervision. The Systems Engineer Senior will lead and facilitate new solution reviews, Proof of Concepts (POCs), and guide involved parties in evaluating solutions to determine organizational fit. This role involves leading discussions with business partners and customers to define scope, gather requirements, and establish outcomes for projects or initiatives, requiring no supervision but leadership for oversight. The engineer will create tasks, work estimates, and resource requirements, monitor tasks and resources, and initiate corrective actions. Communication with staff and clients regarding activity status and potential problem areas, along with providing recommendations to management, is crucial. The role includes configuring, installing, and supporting virtualization solutions, developing solutions in a physically distributed environment throughout all lifecycle phases (define, implement, support POC, design, configuration, automation, testing, migration, triage incidents, and mentoring). Additionally, the engineer will configure, install, and support complex and ancillary device integration solutions, develop a comprehensive understanding of the technology stack from desktop to WAN to proactively troubleshoot integration conflicts and isolate issues, analyze business requirements, create technical recommendations, evaluate new and existing software/hardware, and provide maintenance, testing, documentation, and training plans for operating systems and hardware. This position serves as an expert for fastest issue resolution, understands appropriate escalation paths with vendors, assists with administration procedures, ensures capacity monitoring processes are followed, monitors and tunes diagnostic imaging and other systems for optimal performance, assists in capacity monitoring and planning process design/review, recommends improvements to technical architecture, and maintains technical performance of systems supporting the enterprise. The role acts as a technical escalation point with vendors and staff to coordinate application software and hardware changes, prioritizing problems and issues as needed, and working collaboratively with vendors at technical and management levels to resolve problems and manage escalation.
