This role is for a Performance Analyst for the THAAD Interceptor, directly helping establish the technical solution for one of our country's most vital and complex missile systems. THAAD provides mobile and deployable ground-based missile defense as part of the Missile Defense System. You will work closely with a team of top technical talent from across the program to provide the best, integrated solution that meets overall performance, cost, and schedule needs.

Requirements

  • Experience developing software models of physical systems or other simulations to perform analysis functions, including: System trade studies, Requirements decomposition and allocation, System design, Performance predictions
  • Programming experience using C, C++, Matlab, Fortran, or similar technologies
  • Experience using software version control tools such as gitlab
  • Experience working within space, aircraft, or missile systems performing design, simulation, and/or test
  • Active or Current Secret clearance, thus US Citizenship required

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor or Master degree in Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Physics, Applied Mathematics, or related field
  • Experience using Unix or Linux environment for technical computing

  • Strong team collaboration, communication, and presentation skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong social skills, and ability to build consensus among peers while building solid relationships with team members

Responsibilities

  • Utilize models and simulations to predict performance, conduct trade studies, and allocate requirements across the THAAD technical domains to optimize system design
  • Develop models and simulations to accurately predict the behavior of the THAAD Interceptor system, addressing the Interceptor, environments, and threat systems.
  • Create performance predictions for THAAD development activities such as flight tests, and validate results using post-flight data
  • Integrate lower level (e.g. subsystem) models and results into the system model to create a comprehensive perspective of system performance
  • Guide hardware subsystem development by analyzing subsystem contributions to system performance, updating and creating models, and allocating requirements
  • Brief management and customers on predicted performance resulting from hardware and software design changes
  • Use excellent communication skills to work across the Lockheed Martin organization and customer/user community to ensure consensus and understanding of system performance and trades
