Northrop Grumman Defense has an opening for a Systems Engineer (level 2)/Principal Systems Engineer level 3) to join its team in Roy, UT or Manhattan Beach, CA supporting the Digital Ecosystem team in building digital engineering capabilities for programs within the SDS Division.

Requirements

  • Systems Engineer (Level 2): Bachelor's degree in STEM with 2 years of experience, 0 years of experience with master’s degree.
  • Principal Systems Engineer (Level 3): Bachelor's degree in STEM with 5 years of related experience, 3 years of related experience with master’s degree, or 1 year of related experience with PhD.
  • Must have an active DoD Secret clearance or higher at the time of application.
  • Must have the ability to obtain a Top-Secret clearance.
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period, as determined by the company to meet its business need.
  • Systems Engineer (Level 2): 1 year of experience in complex information systems.
  • Principal Systems Engineer (Level 3): 2 years of experience in complex information systems.
  • Systems Engineer (Level 2): 1 year of experience in creating, updating, and maintaining requirements specifications in DOORS.
  • Principal Systems Engineer (Level 3): 2 years of experience in creating, updating, and maintaining requirements specifications in DOORS.
  • Systems Engineer (Level 2): 1 year of experience in creating, updating, and maintaining MBSE system and software architecture and design definition in an MBSE tool such as Cameo.
  • Principal Systems Engineer (Level 3): 2 years of experience in creating, updating, and maintaining MBSE system and software architecture and design definition in an MBSE tool such as Cameo.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required for all positions with a government clearance and certain other restricted positions.

  • Familiar with Teamcenter/CPLM, Primavera, ARM, Gitlab, COBRA, Nexus, SharePoint.

Responsibilities

  • Support one or more Digital Ecosystem Integrated Product Teams across the full systems engineering life cycle, from use case development through verification.
  • Collaborate closely with members across the assigned IPTs and with systems engineers for other Digital Ecosystem IPTs to produce rigorous systems engineering and design artifacts.
  • Work with technical teams and stakeholders to develop and mature a system design to provide effective and secure Digital Engineering capability across the SDS Division.
  • Engage user community along with program and government counterparts for use case analysis.
  • Define, allocate, and trace requirements.
  • Ensure requirements are accurately represented in the system model.
  • Perform functional decomposition and interface definition.
  • Perform verification activities.
  • Develop the system architecture using Cameo Enterprise Architecture, modeling behavioral, structural, and analytical aspects of the solution.
  • Contribute to ongoing requirements development, management, and analysis.
  • Establish unifying modeling techniques, procedures, and processes that enable seamless model development, tool integration, and team collaboration.
  • Collaborate with assigned Digital Ecosystem Integrated Product Teams and with systems engineers for other Digital Ecosystem IPTs to develop rigorous and proper systems engineering and design artifacts.
  • Use case development, requirements definition, requirements allocation, requirements traceability, functional decomposition, interface definition, verification.
  • Work with test teams to ensure successful checkout and verification of the system.
  • Perform user acceptance testing and similar engagements to solicit informal and formal user feedback.
  • Work with technical teams and stakeholders to develop and mature system design as part of the Digital Ecosystem.
  • Help develop and incorporate the appropriate requirements for the system and ensure that they are properly represented in the model.
  • Develop systems architecture using Cameo Enterprise Architecture (behavioral, structural, analytical).
  • Contribute to system requirements development, management, and analysis.
  • Develop unifying model techniques, procedures, and processes (for model development, tool integration, and team integration).
