About The Position

Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking to hire a Systems Engineer/Principal Systems Engineer (Level 2 or Level 3) to join its team. This position is in Roy, UT and will support the Sentinel program. Northrop Grumman supports the Air Force’s sustainment, development, production and deployment of hardware and system modifications for Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Ground and Airborne Launch Control Systems, Launch Facilities and associated infrastructure. The selected candidate will be embedded in the GN&C department and program integrated product teams, providing Systems Engineering support for the Guidance, Navigation, and Control Subsystem, to ensure sound engineering procedures and products; including, but not limited to, requirements, interfaces, architecture, and Software integration. Candidate will report to the GN&C Software Lead and is responsible for building system engineering artifacts needed for Software Design Review, Critical Design Review, Functional Configuration Audit, and System Qualification/Verification Review The role entails coordination with higher level system engineers and design engineering to produce the needed documentation and set baseline system documentation in Cameo and DOORs and push artifacts through engineering approval and configuration management Additional opportunities allow for communication with the customer and subcontractors to align requirements to the contract constraints and subcontracts to requirements

Requirements

  • Systems Engineer (level 2): Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 2 years of experience with bachelor’s degree, or 0 years of experience with master’s degree
  • Must be a US Citizen with an Active DoD Secret Clearance with an investigation date within the last 6 years
  • Must be able to be successfully screened for Enhanced Security Clearances, within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs
  • 2+ years of experience with one or more of the following: requirements: management/analysis/allocations including the use of DOORS or equivalent; Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBE/MBSE) practices, languages and/or tools such as Cameo, Rhapsody or MagicDRAW; interface development experience; architecture development experience; Verification including verification method determination, RVAM development
  • Principal Systems Engineer (level 3): Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 5 years of experience with bachelor’s degree, 3 years of experience with master’s degree, 1 year of experience with PhD
  • Must be a US Citizen with an Active DoD Secret Clearance with an investigation date within the last 6 years
  • Must be able to be successfully screened for Enhanced Security Clearances, within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs
  • 4+ years of experience with one or more of the following: requirements: management/analysis/allocations including the use of DOORS or equivalent; Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBE/MBSE) practices, languages and/or tools such as Cameo, Rhapsody or MagicDRAW; interface development experience; architecture development experience; Verification including verification method determination, RVAM development

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Providing Systems Engineering support for the Guidance, Navigation, and Control Subsystem, to ensure sound engineering procedures and products; including, but not limited to, requirements, interfaces, architecture, and Software integration.
