About The Position

Toshiba Global Commerce Solutions is seeking a Systems Engineer, Pre-Sales role that will focus on delivering technical demonstration assets and enablement collateral that support the marketing and sales of hardware and software solutions. This position designs, builds, and supports reusable demonstration environments and technical assets by working closely with cross-functional teams, including sales, solution architects, product managers, and engineering teams. The role supports both internal and external audiences—customers, business partners, and resellers—and frequently participates in customer-facing programs such as Early Involvement Programs (EIPs), solution porting engagements, and technical training events. As a subject matter expert, the Systems Engineer, Pre-Sales also acts as a Partner Advocate, leading technical discovery and enablement efforts with key ISV, solution, and channel partners in a fast-paced, collaborative, customer-first environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience developing or supporting modern software environments or computer systems.
  • Experience with enterprise, cloud, and client-side solutions.
  • Proficiency in: Java, JavaScript, and modern UI frameworks
  • Proficiency in: RESTful microservices using JSON and Swagger
  • Proficiency in: Relational and NoSQL databases
  • Experience supporting or working with modern web applications built using HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, and frameworks such as Angular, React, or Vue.js.
  • Familiarity with modern software development practices, including: Continuous integration and build pipelines
  • Familiarity with modern software development practices, including: Automated testing and deployment
  • Familiarity with modern software development practices, including: Tools such as Jenkins, Docker, Azure, and Kubernetes
  • Experience working in Agile development environments.
  • Proficiency with Git and other code versioning tools.
  • Working knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems, including software installation, light administration, and basic scripting.
  • Strong programming, analytical, troubleshooting, and debugging skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent engagements independently.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Ability to deliver technical presentations to customers and partners.

Nice To Haves

  • Retail domain knowledge, including store operations and point-of-sale (POS) concepts.
  • Experience working with or supporting retail POS devices.
  • Prior experience directly supporting pre-sales or technical sales engagements.
  • Experience acting as a technical liaison or advocate for partners, ISVs, or resellers.
  • Familiarity with internal enterprise tools for software development, release management, and technical enablement.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, configure, and maintain technical demonstration assets and environments.
  • Develop, test, debug, and support both client-side and server-side code for demo and enablement purposes.
  • Resolve complex technical challenges requiring broad domain and technical expertise.
  • Identify and reuse existing assets, including code, tools, and documentation, across multiple engagements.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure scalable, aligned, and high-quality deliverables.
  • Lead and participate in customer- and partner-facing activities such as: Industry and technical events, Early Involvement Programs (EIPs), Solution porting engagements, Technical training sessions and conferences
  • Serve as a customer-facing Subject Matter Expert (SME) for at least one product line.
  • Support sales engagements by partnering with sales teams, solution architects, marketing, services, and product teams.
  • Act as a Partner Advocate for assigned business partners, leading technical enablement to support integration and resale efforts.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Travel up to 30% as required.
