Systems Engineer - Mechanical, Product Development

Revolution Space
$156,800 - $292,800Remote

About The Position

Revolution Space is seeking a dynamic and growth-oriented product development Systems Engineer with a mechanical background to be involved in the complete life cycle development of their in-space electric propulsion products. This includes everything from developing requirements to supporting deployed operations. The engineer will join the existing technical team and is expected to interface with stakeholders to define product requirements, ensuring they account for allocation flow-down and capability flow-up for robust product development and verification across various spacecraft and in-space applications. The role involves leading multidisciplinary technical teams in product development and characterization to establish well-defined systems and capabilities. Key technical documentation, such as interface definitions and theories of operations, will be developed and maintained. The Systems Engineer will act as a primary interface to horizontally integrated detailed-design teams with specialized skillsets and to program or project management, including the development and maintenance of key schedule milestones. Responsibilities also include planning, evaluating, and documenting test campaigns for product and/or component suitability in space applications, in collaboration with the test engineering team. Additionally, the engineer will work with production and configuration management teams to prepare documentation for development and engineering builds through initial low-rate production. The ideal candidate will have experience in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary setting and exposure to multiple program phases, from concept to deployment. As a systems engineer, broad knowledge of space system engineering practices is expected, with depth in areas like propulsion systems, fluidics, mechanical engineering, and/or electrical engineering.
