About The Position

Schebler Chimney Systems is looking for a Product Development Engineer in Bettendorf, IA to design and develop new products from concept through production. This role is ideal for a hands-on engineer who enjoys the technical work of product design and also likes owning projects from start to finish. You'll play a key role in shaping new products, improving processes, and collaborating across teams to bring ideas to life.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required (Mechanical Engineering preferred)
• 5–7+ years of experience in product development, mechanical engineering, or technical project management
• Experience leading projects and coordinating cross-functional teams
• Strong mechanical and technical aptitude
• Ability to explain technical concepts clearly to technical and non-technical audiences
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail
• Self-starter who can manage multiple priorities effectively
• Experience with AutoCAD Mechanical, SolidWorks, or Inventor
• Strong planning, scheduling, and project management skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Responsibilities

• Design and develop new products from concept through production
• Create 3D models, part drawings, and technical documentation to support manufacturing and R&D
• Build and test prototypes, and apply what you learn to design improvements
• Define project scope, timelines, and success criteria
• Manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively
• Coordinate with Engineering, Sales, Manufacturing, Quality, and Marketing
• Partner with vendors and suppliers to support development timelines
• Identify risks early and develop solutions to keep projects on track
• Drive continuous improvement in product development processes
