About The Position

Capstone Research Corporation is seeking to expand its team with a Systems Engineer experienced in Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE). This role is based in Huntsville, Alabama. Capstone Research Corporation is a customer-oriented engineering services company that provides research and development support to various branches of the Department of Defense (DoD), including the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, and the Missile Defense Agency (MDA). The position requires supporting customer requirements management and integration within complex system-of-systems architectures, developing and analyzing system architecture models using SysML or similar languages for end-to-end traceability, and managing requirements and models within a digital engineering ecosystem. The role also involves developing and integrating system models aligned with government architecture frameworks and data standards, reviewing and maintaining system requirements and documentation using a model-centric approach, providing technical input to models and artifacts, and participating in program reviews and briefings with Government stakeholders. Travel up to 10% is required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM-related discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics)
  • 4 to 10 years of MBSE experience supporting DoD systems
  • Experience managing requirements within system-of-systems or highly integrated environments
  • Proficiency in SysML modeling using Cameo Enterprise Architecture (or similar tools)
  • Experience working in a collaborative modeling environment such as Teamwork Cloud
  • Familiarity with DoD operational concepts, architectures, and integrated systems (sensors, effectors, networks)
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Ability to travel up to 10%
  • U.S. Citizenship and active DoD Secret clearance required

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of DoDAF, UAF, or other architecture frameworks
  • Experience with scripting or programming languages (e.g., Python, MATLAB, Java)
  • Familiarity with digital engineering strategies and data integration across tools

Responsibilities

  • Support customer requirements management and integration within a complex system-of-systems architecture
  • Develop, maintain, and analyze system architecture models using SysML or similar languages to ensure end-to-end traceability across the system lifecycle
  • Manage requirements and system models within a digital engineering ecosystem (e.g., DOORS, Cameo, Teamwork Cloud)
  • Develop and integrate system models aligned with government architecture frameworks and data standards to enable interoperability
  • Review, develop, and maintain system requirements, specifications, and technical documentation using a model-centric approach
  • Provide technical input to system models and architecture artifacts under development
  • Participate in program reviews, technical interchange meetings, and briefings with Government stakeholders
