Raytheon is seeking a talented and motivated Principal Systems Engineer to join our team within the Systems Engineering and Test Capabilities (SETC) Discipline, supporting development of complex inertial guidance systems for space and military applications. Every day will bring new challenges, requiring you to collaborate across disciplines to troubleshoot issues, perform data analysis, and implement solutions. Your contributions will directly impact the success of mission-critical defense systems, and you'll have a hands-on role in ensuring the entire system functions seamlessly.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior engineering experience.
  • Experience with systems requirements, systems software, and systems hardware; experience with systems integration and/or systems test is a plus
  • Experience with DOORs, MBSE, UML/SysML, and/or Cameo / MagicDraw
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
  • Secret - Current Security Clearance
  • Active and existing security clearance required on day 1

Nice To Haves

  • Strong analytical, communication, and writing skills
  • Experience in requirements development, design, verification, and validation.
  • Experience syncing and tracing requirements between DOORs and SysML modeling tools such as Cameo / MagicDraw.
  • Experience managing trade studies and design decisions.
  • Experience in all phases of development: concept, requirements, design, implementation, and test.
  • Experience supporting design reviews during all phases of development.
  • Experience with Gears Feature Based variation management tools
  • Experience with DXL scripting
  • Experience with Python, Java or Matlab
  • Radar architecture and/or algorithms knowledge
  • Self-starter with the ability to independently pursue information and solve problems
  • 3 years of experience with Systems/Software Engineering Product Development Cycle

Responsibilities

  • Develop requirements and algorithms, concepts of operations, system trades, and system interfaces
  • Develop and maintain detailed SysML descriptive system models, linking and synchronization of requirements, and generate design documentation / views
  • Interface with cross functional teams, such as Electrical and Software engineering, to help guide subsystem development and ensure compliance with requirements throughout the entire product lifecycle
  • Conduct and/or support technical peer reviews and provide constructive feedback
  • Document and provide technical guidance to other members of the design team
  • Communicate technical topics and issues in a clear and concise manner to both technical peers and non-technical team members
