Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history. Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Systems Engineer – Level 4 to join our team in Chandler, Arizona. This role will lead all critical mission planning and mission execution efforts and will directly communicate with the range. The role would also encompass being the lead systems engineer. This position is 100% on site in Chandler, AZ.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university and 8 years of related experience or a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline and 6 years of experience, or a PhD and 4 years of experience.
  • Experience developing requirements and designing missions without customer directed requirements
  • Experience with requirements decomposition and allocation
  • Experience is mission timelines and mission CONOPs
  • Experience with range safety data products
  • U.S. Citizenship is required
  • Must have an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope
  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Experience leading within an IPT organization as a lead or a SME
  • System testing and launch operations experience is desired
  • Previous Cost Account Management experience is desired
  • Systems Engineering Experience working MDA flight tests is desired

Responsibilities

  • Serve as Lead Systems Engineer and Mission Manager for the Programs flight experiments and flight tests requiring the candidate to function in a dynamic multi-disciplinary environment.
  • Possess strong technical problem solving, written and verbal communication skills to generate and document system level interceptor and mission specific requirements, perform vehicle performance assessments and participate in system level verification/data review activities.
  • Create new system requirements and manage requirement changes in the Requirements Management databases working effectively with IPT leaders, team members, and government customers.
  • Possess a strong resolve to drive tasks to completion autonomously and possess demonstrated mentoring/training skills.
  • Create and manage both original and revised specification/interface definition documents and coordinate document approval through peer review and signature process.
  • Implement and manage system requirements in the Requirements Management databases (DOORS).
  • Provide data for and assist in risk management (identifies potential risk) and trade study processes.
  • Manage aspects of system design, analyses, interface verification, testing, and failure/anomaly resolution or mission operations.
  • Participate in the creation of and manage changes to system or subsystem analytical models.
  • Interface with IPT engineering staff as required.
  • Prepare and present materials at major milestone meetings.
