About The Position

Amentum is seeking a Systems Engineer Junior to support the Space Force Range Contract. This role involves supporting the Systems Engineering team in managing and executing systems engineering processes to ensure continuity across the SFRC. The position will assist in the management of LTRS requirements using management tools, and support the development and management of architectural documents for LTRS architecture baselines. The engineer will also perform architectural analysis at system and subsystem levels, assess impacts to technical baselines, and support the Test & Evaluation (T&E) program by assisting in planning, execution, and reporting of T&E activities for LTRS modifications and new systems. Additionally, the role includes assisting in requirements analysis, decomposition, and allocation, supporting the development of acquisition documentation, and providing support for launch operations as required.

  • 0-2 years of relevant experience in systems engineering or a related technical field.
  • Flexibility to work occasional non-standard hours or weekends to support mission requirements.
  • Ability to travel.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance (requires U.S. citizenship).
  • Valid U.S. Driver’s License.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with requirements management tools such as DOORS, Jama, or DOORS Next Generation.
  • Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools such as Cameo.
  • Experience with work management tools such as Jira.
  • Familiarity with any aspect of the systems engineering lifecycle (Requirements, Architecture, Test & Evaluation).
  • Previous Range operations support experience.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Systems Engineering team in managing and executing systems engineering processes to ensure continuity across the SFRC.

  • Assist in performing architectural analysis at the system and subsystem levels, including assessing impacts to technical baselines.
  • Support the Test & Evaluation (T&E) program by assisting in the planning, execution, and reporting of T&E activities for LTRS modifications and new systems.
  • Assist in performing requirements analysis, decomposition, and allocation from the system level to the component level.
  • Support the development of acquisition documentation (e.g., SOO, SOW, PWS) and assist in Request for Proposal (RFP) development.
  • Provide support for launch operations as required.
