About The Position

BAE Systems, Precision Guidance and Sensing Solutions (PGSS) Product Line within the Precision Strike (PS) Business Area has an immediate opening for an entry level Systems Engineer to support the Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) Missile Seeker development program. This position will support the Integration, Verification and Validation (IV&V) team, working both system integration activities as well as product qualification testing. The selected candidate will be responsible for developing and executing test plans and procedures to support lab integration and formal requirements verification, including data analysis and test reporting. Additional responsibilities include coordinating appropriate facilities and test equipment needed for system level testing to be made available during planned test events. This person may also manage activities associated with environmental qualification testing, to include overall plans, procedures, and facilities. Our engineers are members of cross-functional, multi-disciplined teams focused on developing cost-effective systems that meet the needs of our customers.

Requirements

  • ABET accredited Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Physics, or a related field
  • No prior professional experience required, but relevant internships or academic projects are a plus
  • Familiarity with the system engineering lifecycle (IV&V phase) preferred (may be acquired through coursework or projects)
  • Security Clearance is required – candidates must be able to obtain and maintain security clearance.
  • Experience with data analysis techniques and tools.
  • Basic programming skills in at least one language (e.g., MATLAB, Python).
  • Familiarity with test methodologies and equipment.
  • Ability to create clear and concise technical documentation.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Nice To Haves

  • Understanding of basic EO/IR principles and hardware.
  • Knowledge of missile defense systems and/or guidance, navigation, and control (GNC) systems.
  • Experience with DOORS or similar requirements management tools.
  • Experience with MATLAB.
  • Understanding of signal processing concepts.
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git, Bitbucket).
  • Active Security Clearance.
