About The Position

Lockheed Martin is seeking a talented level 2 Systems Engineer-IT with a Secret clearance to work from their Boulder, CO location. This role involves ensuring the smooth operation of critical network infrastructure that supports missile-warning systems, providing vital early warning capabilities for warfighters and contributing to global security. The position is described as an EMERGING PROFESSIONAL (level 2) role, typically requiring 1+ years of professional experience and a BS degree.

Requirements

  • Security+ Certification
  • Experience with both Linux and Windows system administration, including installing, patching, troubleshooting and hardening Linux and Windows operating systems (both bare-metal and virtual machines)
  • Experience with System Security Implementations.
  • Active Secret clearance is required prior to start and ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance
  • 1+ years of professional experience
  • BS degree

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency in working with OpenShift and containers
  • Proficiency in working with AWS Cloud components and services
  • Proficiency in cyber security and Splunk
  • Configuration and management of routers, switches, firewalls, and other network devices
  • Experience with firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and vulnerability management
  • Understanding of server hardware, storage systems, and backup solutions
  • Experience with operational ground systems
  • Be a team player and work in a collaborative team environment

Responsibilities

  • Maintain smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network administrators.
  • Set up administrator and service accounts, maintain system documentation, tune system performance, install system wide software and allocate mass storage space.
  • Have experience with both Linux and Windows system administration, including installing, patching, troubleshooting and hardening Linux and Windows operating systems (both bare-metal and virtual machines).
  • Have experience with System Security Implementations.
  • Interact with users and evaluates vendor products.
  • Make recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinates installation and provides backup recovery.
  • Develop and monitor policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources.
